필자가 영어를 좋아하기 시작한 것은 중학교 시절이다. 암기를 잘하는 편인데 영어는 외우기 좋은 과목이어서 좋아했다. 가만히 생각해보면 미군부대 나오신 아버지 영향부터 거슬러 올라간다. 아버지는 주무시기 전에 당시 AFKN(American Forces Korean Network) 현 AFN Korea(American Forces Network Korea) 주한 미군 네트워크 방송을 틀어놓고 주무셨다. 이것도 잠재적으로 도움이 된 것 같다. 어학을 공부하는데 조기교육은 중요하다. 어떤 영어 선생님은 우리말이 형성되고 나서 외국어를 공부하는 것이 좋다는 주장을 방송에서는 하고 정작 자기 아이들을 어릴 때부터 2개 국어를 하는 bilingual 공부를 시키는 것을 본적이 있다. 어린 아이는 유연성이 좋아 영어 우리말을 충분히 동시에 공부할 기본이 되어 있다는 생각이 필자의 생각이다. 중3 겨울방학 때 학원을 한 달 다닌 적이 있다. 그 때 영어를 재미있
