Singer Yong Jun-hyung accused of perjury
Yong Jun-hyung, a member of K-pop boy group Beast, was questioned by the police for allegedly giving false testimony in court concerning the president of his former agency.
Cube Entertainment said Tuesday that “Yong attended the investigation honestly,” adding, “We will provide further details later.”
On the KBS 2TV variety show “Win Win,” which Yong appeared on as a guest in February 2012, he talked about an episode involving him and his former boss.
“When I told my boss that I wanted to leave the agency, though I had signed an exclusive 10-year contract, he smashed a bottle and threatened me with it,” the 23-year-old rapper said.
Following Yong’s televised remark, the CEO of his former agency, identified by the surname Kim, filed a lawsuit against KBS and Yong attended the trial as a witness in January this year, confirming what he said about Kim.
Kim then accused Yong of perjury, which prompted the latest police investigation earlier this month.
