소희 JYP와 계약만료, 연기자 전념 의사 밝혀..존중하기로

그룹 원더걸스의 소희가 제계약을 앞두고 극비리에 배우 회사와 미팅을 가진 사실이 알려진 가운데, JYP 엔터테인먼트는 소희의 연기 전념 의사를 존중해주기로 했다고 밝혔다.

소속사는 11일 공식 보도자료를 통해 "오는 21일 계약 만료가 되는 소희가 개인적으로 변화의 시기라 판단하여 새로운 분위기에서 연기자로서 전념하고 싶다는 의사를 밝혀와 많은 상의 끝에 본인의 의견을 존중하기로 했다"고 알렸다.

원더걸스 멤버 선예와 예은도 소희와 같은 계약이 만료되고 유빈은 9월에 계약이 만료되는 것으로 전해졌다. 소속사 측은 소희를 제외한 이 세 명은 소속사와 재계약에 동의하고 세부사항을 조율 중이라고 밝혔다.

원더걸스의 향후 활동에 대해서는 멤버들의 개별 활동 계획에 따라 그 구체적 시기와 방법을 결정할 예정인 것으로 알려졌다.

Sohee likely to end contract with JYP Entertainment

Wonder Girls member Sohee reportedly is set to end her contract with her current agency JYP Entertainment.

According to local media reports. Sohee held a secret meeting with another agency specializing in acting, with the termination of the existing contract just around the corner.

“The contract with Sohee ends on Dec. 21 and we have decided to respect her decision to focus on her acting career after much discussion,” JYP Entertainment said in a press release.

The contract with other Wonder Girls members -- Sunye and Yeeun -- are also to expire on the same day as Sohee. The contract for Yubin will be temrinated in September next year. The group’s agency said apart from Sohee, other members have agreed to renew the contract.

Wonder Girls’ future course remains uncertain due to the mixed decisions by the members. The girl group, who debuted in 2007, is keeping a relatively low profile recently after Sunye got married in January this year.
