The Philippine Tourism Board said Angono City in Rizal Province in the Philippines will hold “Higantes Festival” on Nov. 22. Higante is Spanish for “giant.” The festival honors the sacred mountain San Clemente, which is believed to protect fishermen of the Angono villages. There will be a flamboyant parade twice in the day ― in the morning and in the afternoon ― and people will be wearing traditional Filipino clothes. During the festival, a massive doll will be set up on the street and people will have water pistol fights. Tourists are welcome to join the fight, the tourism board said.
