예성, 조용히 훈련소 입소 "팬들 고맙다"

그룹 슈퍼주니어의 예성(29)이 6일 공익근무요원으로 복무하기 위해 훈련소에 입소했다.

소속사 SM엔터테인먼트는 "예성이 이날 오후 1시40분께 전북 전주 35사단에 입소했다"며 "평소 조용히 입소하고 싶다는 자신의 뜻에 따라 별도로 팬이나 취재진에 게 인사하는 시간은 없었다"고 전했다.

이날 전주 35사단에는 이른 아침부터 그를 배웅하려는 팬 수백 명이 몰려들었다. 그러나 예성이 모습을 드러내지 않고 조용히 입소하는 바람에 뜻을 이루지 못하고 발길을 돌렸다.

예성은 전날 자신의 트위터를 통해 "무대, 노래 등 모든 것이 그리울 것"이라며 "다시 만날 날을 기다리겠다. 걱정하지 말라"고 소감을 전했다.

또 이날 자신을 기다리는 팬들을 향해 "이 먼 곳까지 고맙다"며 "다들 건강해야 해. 또 보자"고 트위터로 대신 인사를 건넸다.

예성은 4주간 기초 군사훈련을 받고 나서 23개월간 공익근무요원으로 복무할 예정이다.

Super Junior member Ye Sung joins military service

Super Junior member Ye Sung, 28, left the spotlight temporarily to fulfill his two-year mandatory military service.

Ye Sung enlisted with the 35th division in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, on Monday for four-week basic military training. After basic training he will serve 23 months in a public service position.

The night of his enlistment, Ye Sung wrote a message to his fans on his Twitter account: “I will miss it all. Stages, songs... I look forward to the day we meet again, ELF. No worries, love you all!”

Although he tried not to make a big scene, hundreds of fans gathered in front of the army recruitment center to watch him enlist. However, Ye Sung did not stop his car and drove straight into the reserve enlistment site. He tweeted later, “Thank you for coming so far. I told you not to come. Everyone, be healthy. See you again.”

Other Super Junior members did not accompany him, just as the agency had announced last week. An official said that since it was too far away and Ye Sung wanted to enlist quietly, Super Junior members would not accompany him.
