LONDON (AP) ― Andros Townsend beat American goalkeeper Brad Guzan in the 31st minute and Roberto Soldado scored in the 69th to lead Tottenham to a 2-0 win at Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Townsend scored in his England debut last week in a 4-1 win over Montenegro before impressing in a 2-0 victory over Poland that secured a place at next year’s World Cup.
Tottenham (5-2-1) is fifth with 16 points, three behind league-leading Arsenal. Aston Villa (3-4-1) is 13th with 10 points.
