South Korea will host Switzerland in a football friendly next month, officials said Monday.
The Korea Football Association (KFA) said South Korea, 58th in the FIFA rankings, will bring the world No. 7 Switzerland to Seoul World Cup Stadium on Nov. 15.
It will be the first match between the two countries since Switzerland defeated South Korea 2-0 in their final Group G match at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
The loss knocked South Korea out of the tournament, while Switzerland moved on to the round of 16 as the top seed from the group. Switzerland lost to Ukraine on penalties in the round of 16.
Both countries have qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
South Korea finished second in Group A behind Iran in the final Asian qualifying round. Switzerland finished atop Group E in the European round, going undefeated in 10 matches against Iceland, Slovenia, Norway, Albania and Cyprus. (Yonhap News)
