The city of Seoul has established 22 busking zones at parks along the Han River, where street singers can perform year-round free of charge, city officials said Wednesday.

The project aims to centralize busking performances at Han River parks, transforming them into popular busking destinations.

Under the project, each of Seoul's 11 Han River parks has at least one busking stage established, while busier parks, such as Yeouido and Ttukseom Han River parks, have two or more stages.

Among them, Banpo Han River Park features a waterfront stage and Ttukseom Han River Park has a stage located right next to a musical fountain.

Artists who want to perform on the busking stages need to apply on the Han River parks' website and gain approval through a prior review.

To minimize noise, each performer is allowed up to two speakers, and they must adhere to noise limits of 65 decibels between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and 60 dB between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., city officials said. (Yonhap)
