Luc Besson to visit S. Korea next month

French director Luc Besson, best known for "Leon" (1994), will visit South Korea next month to promote his latest film "Lucy," its local importer and distributor said Wednesday.

"Besson will visit South Korea around the end of August before the film's release," the Seoul office of the Universal Pictures International said.

"Lucy" tells the story of a woman named Lucy who happens to gain supernatural powers after being kidnapped by Mr. Jang, the absolute evil.

Scarlett Johansson and South Korean actor Choi Min-sik respectively play the roles of Lucy and Mr. Jang. Multiple French studios took part in the production of the English-language film.

The movie is set to open in South Korea on Sept. 4. (Yonhap)
