The French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched a Business Women’s Club in a bid to promote women’s role in the workforce through discussions to improve the work-life balance for women in Korea.
FKCCI board directors Jenny Kim, a tax attorney at law firm Kim & Chang, and celebrity and businesswoman Ida Daussy launched the club which will be open to all businesswomen in Korea including those working for foreign companies.
“The rate of female executives is very high among French companies in Korea, and we thought we could start discussions to seek ways to improve the work-life balance for women by sharing some good practices in European firms,” said Jenny Kim who joined the FKCCI board last year.
Gender Equality Minister Cho Yoon-sun gave a presentation on the economic empowerment of women at the FKCCI gathering in Seoul on Thursday, during which the new club was launched.
