South Korean stocks opened slightly lower Tuesday, taking a cue from overnight losses on Wall Street.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index fell 2.03 points, or 0.08 percent, to 2,499.90 in the first 15 minutes of trading.

Market kingpin Samsung Electronics remained unchanged, and SK hynix, a major chipmaker, fell 0.63 percent.
Hyundai Motor, the No. 1 automaker, moved up 1.28 percent, and AmorePacific, the leading cosmetics maker, also shed 2.3 percent.
POSCO, the steelmaker, declined 0.75 percent.
The local currency was trading at 1,122.85 won against the US dollar, up 1.75 won from the previous session's close. (Yonhap)
