LG Electronics on Monday launched an “on-board” advertisement campaign for its LG Optimus 3-D smartphones by rigging a subway train with related ads and products.
The Seoul-based company said the 3-D phones, along with LG Electronics’ 3-D monitors and televisions, would be on display on a train on Subway Line No. 2 until Aug. 21.

Those using the “Optimus 3-D train” would be able to enjoy the features of the 3-D products, including online games and taking 3-D pictures or moving images, LG Electronics said.
“LG Electronics plans to diversify its marketing campaigns for Optimus 3-D smartphones so that more customers will have the chance to see how they can enjoy these phones,” said Na Young-bae, executive vice president of LG Electronics’ Mobile Communications’ Korea division.
LG’s Optimus 3-D is the first 3-D smartphone developed by a local handset maker.
LG has already launched the smartphone in about 60 nations in Europe, and earlier this month started to receive pre-orders for the phones in Korea.
With the Optimus 3-D, phone users can watch 3-D images without eyewear, and also create their own 3-D images.
