악마숭배 10대 女 '내가 연쇄살인범'

악마숭배자로 알려진 미국의 한 10대 여성이 자신이 20명 이상을 죽인 연쇄살인범이라고 주장했다.

지난해 11월 온라인에서 만난 한 남성을 흉기로 찔러 사망케 한 혐의로 구속된 미란다 바버(19)는 자신이 지난 6개월간 알래스카와 텍사스를 포함한 미국 여러 지역에서 살인을 저질렀다고 고백했다.

바버는 미국 펜실베니아주의 지역 언론인 선버리 데일리 아이템과의 전화 인터뷰에서 자신이 죽인 사람의 숫자를 “22명까지는 세어봤지만 그 다음엔 그만뒀다”며 “(피해자들을) 찾을 수 있게 정확한 위치를 알려줄 수 있다”고 덧붙였다.

바버는 온라인 사이트에서 만나 100달러에 성관계를 갖기로 동의한 트로이 라페라를 살인한 사실을 인정한다고 말했다. 그는 또 인터뷰를 통해 경찰에게 자신이 저지른 다른 살인 사건에 대해서도 말하고 싶다고 전했다.

바버는 거짓으로 살고 싶지 않아 범행을 자백하게 됐다면서도 “나쁜 사람”들을 죽였기 때문에 양심에 가책은 없다고 말했다.

“(살인 사건에 대해) 말할 시기가 왔다는 생각이 들었고 사람들이 나를 믿든 믿지 않든 상관없다. 그냥 말하고 싶었다”

바버는 4세에 친척으로부터 성추행을 당했고, 13살에는 악마숭배조직에 가담한 것으로 알려졌다.

해당지역의 경찰 관계자는 바버의 인터뷰 내용을 심각하게 검토 중이며 확인하거나 부인 할 수 있는 사항이 아직까지 없다고 전했다.

A teen satanist charged in one murder along with her husband alleges she’s a serial killer and police in Pennsylvania say they are taking her claims seriously.

The (Sunbury) Daily Item reported Saturday Miranda Barbour, 19, admitted her guilt in the Nov. 11 stabbing death of Troy LaFerrara of Port Trevorton and went on to confess she has killed many others in Alaska, Texas, North Carolina and California in the past six years.

“When I hit 22, I stopped counting,”Barbour told the newspaper through a phone at Northumberland County Prison Friday night. “I can pinpoint on a map where you can find them.”

She said she is ready to plead guilty to the murder of LaFerrara, who she said she killed after agreeing to have sex with for $100 after meeting him through a Craiglist ad, and is willing to talk to police about the other alleged killings.

Court documents allege she stabbed LaFerrara 20 times while her 22-year-old husband Elytte Barbour of Selinsgrove had a cord wrapped around his neck.

Miranda Barbour told the Daily Item she was confessing to being a serial killer because she wanted to stop living a lie, though she added she felt no remorse because she only killed “bad people.”

“I feel it is time to get all of this out,” she said. “I don‘t care if people believe me. I just want to get it out.”

She also said she was sexually molested by a relative when she was 4, joined a satanic cult in Alaska at 13 and became involved murder soon after.

She said she became pregnant twice, had a least one abortion.

Sunbury police Chief Steve Mazzeo said authorities were taking her claims seriously.

“We are reviewing the recording of the Daily Item interview and I will not confirm or deny anything at this point,” he said.

“I will however say that through investigations by lead officer Travis Bremigen he has been in contact with several other states and is working with law enforcement from various cities and towns.

“From information we gathered and from information gathered from her interview we are seriously concerned and have been in contact with the proper authorities.”
