Korea to sell 6.5 tln won worth of state bonds in September

South Korea plans to sell 6.5 trillion won ($5.8 billion) worth of state bonds next month, the finance ministry said Thursday.

The government will issue 1.6 trillion won worth of bonds with a maturity of three years and 1.4 trillion won worth of five-year bonds.


It also plans to sell 1.8 trillion won worth of 10-year bonds and a combined 1.7 trillion won of bonds with a maturity of between

20 and 30 years.

The finance ministry said the government will repay state debt worth a combined 1.95 trillion won on Sept. 21, with the detailed schedule to be released on Sept. 13.

The ministry added that it sold 7.55 trillion won worth of Treasurys in August. (Yonhap)
