Korean tech behemoths Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics grabbed innovation awards at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014, the world’s biggest electronics trade show.
In respective press releases, Samsung Electronics said it won 24 awards while its local rival LG claimed 15.
Both companies won the Best of Innovations Award, which is given to those who have achieved the most breakthrough technological development and innovative design, for their TV products.
Samsung won the accolade with its smart TV (UN65H7100) and LG with its 77-inch Ultra HD curved-screen OLED TV.

Other Samsung products that won the awards include the phablet Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition and smart watch Galaxy Gear.
LG’s flagship smartphone G2, and its front load washer were among the products recognized for innovation.
According to the Consumer Electronics Association, the organizer of the trade show, the CES Innovations Awards honor outstanding design and engineering advancements across 28 consumer electronics product categories, including two new categories this year: 3-D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, and Wearable Technologies.
The two Korean firms promised to make constant efforts to bring out innovative products in the market.
“The 2014 Innovations Award program saw a record number of entries. We continue to be awed by the creative thought and design behind these award-winning innovations, which reflect the true spirit of CES and the technology industry,” said CEA senior vice president Karen Chupka.
The CES trade show is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas from Jan. 7 to 10 next year.
