Gwangju International Center will run a GIC Culture Tour to Muan, South Jeolla Province, on April 25.
The first stop on the tour will be the birthplace of Choeui, a Joseon-era Zen monk who also became a tea master.
Lunch will follow at a restaurant for grilled pork over an open fire.
After lunch the tour will visit the workshop of traditional pottery master Kim Ok-su, where participants can try their hand at making some ceramics of their own.
The last stop will be Sikyeongjeong Pavillion, a favored place of some of the leading figures in “gasa” literature.
The tour runs from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and costs 55,000 won for GIC members, 65,000 won for nonmembers and 35,000 won for preschoolers. The fees cover travel, insurance and admission to the sites.
