Moon Tae-young of LG Sakers scored 24 points, including 10 in the third quarter, to help the Dream beat the Magic in the Korea Basketball League All-Star game on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Moon had 10 rebounds and four assists in the game to win the MVP award, and Wonju Dongbu center Rodrique Benson also added 24 points, helping the Dream outscore the Magic 143-119 at the Jamsil Gymnasium in Seoul.
Seoul Samsung’s Lee Seung-joon scored 27 points and Incheon ET-land’s Moon Tae-jong added 20 points for the Magic.
The Dream, comprised of Dongbu, KT, Mobis, Orions and LG, took early command of the game, leading 71-48 over the Magic after the first half.
In the third quarter, the Magic, comprised of SK, Samsung, ET Land, KCC, and KGC, narrowed the gap by scoring 36 points.
But it was too late to change the game, and thanks to Moon’s inspired performance the Dream scored 43 points while the Magic added 36 points in the final quarter to win the game.
Meanwhile in other events on Sunday, Kim Hyun-min of Busan KT jumped over three people knelt down on the floor to win the slam dunk competition, and KCC’s Chon Tae-poong won the tree-point title by beating Lee Si Jun of Seoul Samsung.
