Pernod Ricard Korea, the Korean unit of the French wine and spirit giant, said Monday it has donated 40 million won ($30,385) to the Corea Image Communication Institute, or CICI, to help boost the nation’s global image in 2024.

Adding to its financial contributions, the company also aims to provide some essential supplies for the events organized by the foundation this year. It will start by sponsoring the upcoming “CICI Korea 2024” on Wednesday, an annual award ceremony honoring people or organizations for their efforts enhancing Korea’s reputation on a global scale.

Under its “2030 Sustainability and Responsibility Roadmap,” Pernod Ricard is committed to leading sustainability in the wine and spirits industry, the company said. The Korean unit’s successive donations to CICI are part of efforts to “value people,” a goal set to drive cultural communication and inclusivity as well as the promotion of Korean culture.

“We are delighted to work together with the CICI for two consecutive years, taking part in meaningful moves to promote positive images of Korea,” said Pernod Ricard Korea CEO Frantz Hotton.

“We will continue to pursue Pernod Ricard's values of diversity and inclusivity via cross-cultural experiences.”
