The schedule and initial lineup for the 16th Seoul Jazz Festival 2024 have been revealed.
In its 16th year, the Seoul Jazz Festival will be held at four venues located in Seoul's Olympic Park from May 31 to June 2, featuring around 60 diverse artists from home and abroad.
Singer-songwriter Lauv, who is popular for his dynamic performances and emotional music, and French artist FKJ, who is known for his bold fusion of soul, jazz and electronic music, will visit Korea for the festival. Legendary guitarist John Schofield, Modern Jazz drummer Bill Stewart and bassist Vicente Archer will perform as a trio.
British artist Jungle and Icelandic singer-songwriter Laufey are also featured in the lineup. Tones And I, who gained worldwide popularity with "Dance Monkey," the Jousha Redman Group led by the legendary jazz saxophonist Joshua Redman, and SG Lewis, a British deep house DJ, are also participating in the festival.
Lauv, who is hugely popular in Korea for "Steal the Show" from the movie "Elemental," will be the event's headliner for two days. Jazz singer-songwriter Melody Gardot, on her first visit to Korea in 14 years, will also perform as a headliner.
Several Korean artists will also perform at the festival. Ballad singer Paul Kim, Danny Koo and the Yoonseung Cho Trio will take to the stage on May 31, while Band Jannabi and the Yun Seok-cheol Trio will go on stage on June 1. Chang Kiha and Lee Jin-ah are set to perform on June 2.
