BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (AP) -- Two identical twins in Indiana now have another birthday in common: They delivered babies on the same day at the same hospital.
The Herald-Times reports 21-year-old Jessica and Jennifer Patterson gave birth Wednesday at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Jennifer Patterson gave birth first to a girl, Adalynn Rose Patterson, who was born with a collapsed lung but is now doing fine.
Eight and half hours later, Jessica Patterson gave birth to a boy, Mason Douglas Patterson, by Cesarean section.
Jennifer Patterson calls the same-day births ``kind of cool.'' Both women live in the tiny Lawrence County town of Judah.
Hospital spokeswoman Amanda Roach says no one can recall the last time identical twins delivered babies at the hospital on the same day.

미국의 일란성 쌍둥이 자매가 같은 날 한 병원에서 아기를 출산한 소식이 알려져 화제가 되고 있다.
24일(현지시간) 시카고 언론들에 따르면 인디애나 주 소도시 주다에 사는 일란성 쌍둥이 자매 제시카와 제니퍼 패터슨(21)은 지난 19일 블루밍턴 인디애나대학병 원에서 딸과 아들을 나란히 출산했다.
제시카가 먼저 자연분만으로 첫 딸을 낳았고 8시간30분 후 제니퍼가 제왕절개로 첫 아들을 출산했다.
제시카의 딸은 출생 당시 폐허탈(collasped lung) 진단을 받았으나 현재 양호한 상태인 것으로 알려졌다.
자매는 둘 다 미혼으로 지난 3년간 줄곧 한집에서 같이 살아왔다.
이들은 "(동시 임신이) 계획적인 일은 아니었다"면서 "임신 사실은 제시카가 일주일 먼저 확인했다"고 말했다.
둘은 당분간 계속 한집에서 살면서 함께 아기를 키울 계획이다.
제니퍼는 이에 대해 "멋진 일"이라면서도 "생일을 누군가와 공유하는 일은 그리 신나는 일이 아니므로 내 아기만큼은 혼자만의 생일을 갖길 바랬다"고 털어놓았다.
이어 제시카는 "앞으로 집안이 시끌벅적해지겠다"며 웃었다.
