JYP Entertainment’s new girl group VCHA debuted with the single album “Girls of the Year” Friday.

VCHA is the first multinational girl group that JYP has launched in the US.

The group consists of six members from Korea, the US, and Canada.

They were chosen through JYP and the American music label Republic Record’s K-pop girl group production project “A2K” which aired on YouTube in July last year.

The single album is led by the titular track “Girls of the Year” which conveys the group’s goal of becoming a top K-pop act.

Renowned music producers such as Marcus Andersson, who previously worked with Le Sserafim for their first English single “Perfect Night,” Lauren Aquilina, who created hit singles of Little Mix, Demi Lovato and Ive, as well as experienced K-pop producer Chloe Latimer took part in VCHA’s first single.

The music video for “Girls of the Year” revolves around the six members who gather at a dance studio and work hard on improving their performance skills to become world stars. Ultimately, the girls are shown performing on a concert stage in front of their fans.

The single, sung in English, boasts the talented vocals of the group’s members.

VCHA is set to perform as the opening act for the K-pop girl group Twice’s fifth world tour in Mexico on Feb. 2-3, in Brazil on Feb. 6-7 and in Las Vegas on March 16.

VCHA was named as one of Grammy.com’s “25 Artists To Watch In 2024” and its single album as one of Nylon’s “22 Albums We’re Excited For In 2024.”
