In the 12th episode aired on Tuesday, Mi-ra (played by Lee) teams up with Ji-hyeok (Kang Ji-hwan), who is the mortal rival of Dong-seok (Choi Daniel), her cold-hearted lover and heir to Hyunsung Group.
The two join up after Mi-ra becomes enraged at her lover’s business tycoon family for ruining her late father by unfairly forcing him to take responsibility for embezzlement charges. In return, she decides to ruin Hyunsung Group and helps Ji-hyeok, a righteous entrepreneur who seeks co-prosperity between SMEs and conglomerates.
By the time Dong-seok begins to suspect Mi-ra, she has already stolen crucial corporate documents from Hyunsung Group. She hands over the evidence to Ji-hyeok, knowing it would potentially corner her lover in the ongoing trial. In addition, she has been spying on Dong-seok’s every move, just as his family has done to their victims and subordinates, which all works out in Ji-hyeok’s favor.
