Sheraton Incheon Hotel is offering a green getaway for readers of The Korea Herald.

The “eco-friendly package,” which includes two consecutive nights’ stay on Saturday and Sunday with breakfast as well as food and beverage equivalent to 100,000 won in value during the stay, will be upgraded exclusively for readers of The Korea Herald, with a free upgrade to the Park View Deluxe Room that offers panoramic views of Central Park in Songdo and Incheon Bridge. The package is priced at 460,000 won, excluding tax and service charges.

“They have the best views in our hotel,” said Kwon Joon-ah, marketing and communication manager.

Sheraton Incheon has been promoting its vision of a clear and focused company-wide goal of reducing energy and water usage, at the same time providing a luxurious experience. The hotel has been facilitating an eco-friendly environment without sacrificing guests’ comfort or ambience, according to the company.

The hotel has been recognized as the “World’s Leading Green Hotel” and “Asia’s Leading Green Hotel” by the World Travel Awards, as well as “Best Green Hotel 2012” by The Korea Herald recently.

“This achievement demonstrates that the hotel sector is making vigorous and proactive efforts to improve their green performance, which also creates a favorable environment that cultivates more green initiatives among other industry sectors in Korea,” said Richard Suter, the hotel’s general manager.

The hotel launched the MAGC (Make a Green Choice) program with Starwood Hotels and Resorts which reduces water consumption and energy usage in guestrooms, and helps keep chemicals out of the environment by declining housekeeping for just one night.

The program saves about 151 liters of water, electricity to run a laptop for 10 hours and 25,000 British thermal units of natural gas.
