The Korea America Friendship Society will host the 2012 year-end reception at the Grand Ballroom in Millennium Seoul Hilton, Thursday.
About 200 guests expected at the dinner event include Gen. Kwon Oh-sung, deputy commander of the Combined Forces Command; Leslie A. Bassett, deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy; and Lt. Gen. Jan-Marc Jouas, deputy commander of the U.S. Forces in Korea.
U.S. soldiers in Korea and members of the society will also join the year-end event.
The Children’s Choir of Far East Broadcasting Co. is scheduled to perform during the event.
The reception will start at 6:15 p.m. Han Chul-soo, president of the society, Bassett and Gen. Kwon will make remarks, followed by a benediction by USFK chaplain David Waters and toast by Lt. Gen. Jouas.
The Korea America Friendship Society has hosted the annual reception since it was established in 1991 as a nonprofit, nonpartisan civilian organization to foster the alliance between the two countries.
The society has about 600 Korean and American members in Korea and the U.S.
