Gwangju International Center will run the Gwangju International Community Day on Nov. 10 at the city’s World Cup Stadium.
The annual event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and feature dozens of booths. Some represent countries, where you can try their culinary specialties and learn about their cultures.
Other booths will be run by expat clubs and groups in Gwangju introducing their communities. A Flea Market will run from 11 a.m. onwards for people to sell unwanted items.
The GIC will also run its own flea market stall, and is asking those who have items to sell, but are not running a stall to donate them. Funds raised will benefit the center.
A talent show at the event will also feature performances including singing, music, dancing and more competing for prizes of gift cards worth up to 300,000 won ($260).
Earlier on the same day the GIC will hold the third installment of its Kimchi Road program starting 9 a.m. at the GIC building. The group will go to Gwangju Kimchi Town to learn how to make the traditional cabbage kimchi. The event ends at noon.
Participation requires reservation and costs 10,000 won, payable in advance.
