This summer, K-pop sensation Psy and American pop rock band Maroon 5, who once vied for the top spot on Billboard chart, confirmed that they would appear in the rock festival Hyundai Card Citybreak 2014 slated for Aug. 9-10 in Seoul.
The annual rock festival, launched last year, will feature over 30 artists ranging from internationally renowned bands to popular local musicians on three big stages at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
The first lineup, disclosed Tuesday, includes world-famous Maroon 5, Psy and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, alongside local acts.
Maroon 5, a favorite band here, returns to Korea after two years. With the band reportedly working on their new album, fans are paying attention to whether some of their new songs would be revealed at Citybreak.
Psy, renowned for his viral hit “Gangnam Style,” plans to dominate the stage for about 80 minutes. The rapper is also currently working on a new solo album, according to his agency YG Entertainment.
The second lineup is set to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
