SaKong to discuss Asia’s role at San Francisco FRB meeting

Institute for Global Economics Chairman SaKong Il will give a keynote speech this week at an international conference hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (FRB).

The conference titled “Challenges in Global Finance: The Role of Asia” will be held Monday and Tuesday in San Francisco. SaKong’s speech will focus on “Asia’s Role Toward Sustainable and Balanced Global Growth.”

Leading figures from U.S. and Asian banks and related international organizations will attend the conference. John Williams, president and CEO of FRB, Daniel Tarullo, a member of the FRB’s Board of Governors, Masaaki Shirakawa, governor of Bank of Japan, and Zhu Min, deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund will participate in the discussions.

Figures from the Financial Times and scholars from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University will attend the conference as well.
