Actor Lee Jong-suk said he “felt inferior” to Park Hae-jin, who plays opposite him in SBS TV show “Doctor Stranger,” due to Park’s good looks.
“I was awed by Park Hae-jin’s good looks and taste of fashion. … I felt inferior,” Lee said in a press conference for “Doctor Stranger” held in Mok-dong, Seoul, Tuesday. Lee said he hopes to reveal more masculine side in his part, as his roles in previous works were ”boyish.”
The Monday-Tuesday drama is a melodrama set up in a hospital setting, with a tint of inter-Korean issues on the sideline.
“I check out the cam recordings for each scene, and I realized Park Hae-jin seonbae (senior) was way too good-looking,” he added, in a half-jovial, half-confessing manner.
The two actors, with rising popularity inside and outside Korea, were dressed in black and wore yellow ribbons in condolence to the victims of the sunken ferry, Sewol.
SBS pushed back the date of airing the first episode by a week, from April 28 to May 5, after the Sewol sank off the southwest coast on April 16.
