Daegu Theatre Troupe is bringing Tennessee William’s classic “A Streetcar Named Desire” to Seoul for a special performance on Saturday.

The play, which sold out its run in Daegu, will travel to the capital one time only for an 8 p.m. showing at the White Box Theater in Seoul.

White Box Theater’s creative director, Desiree Munro, is excited to host this special event.

“I have been a fan of Tennessee Williams’ works ever since reading them,” she said. “There is a reason ‘Streetcar’ is his most beloved play, I just can’t wait to see all the hard work the Daegu group have put into this show.

Directed by Stevie Baker, founder of the Daegu Theatre Troupe, the play is a story about love, class and domestic abuse. The organizers believe it will be the first English-language performance of the play in Korea.

Tickets are 20,000 won available on the door. The theater opens 7.30 p.m. for an 8 p.m. start.
