The French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched the First Guidebook on French Restaurants in Korea this week, the first publication of its kind.
“The 72 restaurants and bistros in this Guidebook will surprise you by their succulent dishes, their decoration mixing French and Korean styles, and their variety; you will find the right place to go out with friends, for a business lunch or dinner, or with your family,” said FKCCI President David-Pierre Jalicon.
To reach a wider base, 24 restaurants found in the guide present themselves in Korean, French and English.
There is also a map in the beginning of the book to help find those multilingual restaurants offering French delicacies.
The 2012 Edition is available at the FKCCI Office located at the third floor in the Grand Ambassador Seoul or by e-mailing jh.chae@fkcci.com and costs 10,000 won per book.
The chamber is also offering discounts if purchased in bulk.
For corporate groups, it’s the ideal gift for your team or your staff for Christmas, New Year’s Eve or Seollal. (for 10 guidebooks: 1 free/for 20 guidebooks: 3 free/for 30 guidebooks: 5 free).
“Why was it the right time? The ‘Gastronomic Meal of the French’ has been voted UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage in November 2010,” said Jalicon.
“France holds true originality and global recognition regarding its gastronomy and related know-how.”
Jalicon noted that foreign restaurants are becoming more and more popular, “springing up like mushrooms in Seoul and Busan.”
During the last few years, more than 70 restaurants owned by French entrepreneurs or Koreans in love with France have established themselves in the country’s two largest cities.
For over a quarter century, the French chamber has releases every year several publications such as the Coree Affaires magazine in French and Korean (blog.naver.com/francebiz), the annual Directory, and some booklets on investments in Korea, entrepreneurship, information on the EU-Korea Free Trade Agreement and economic forecasts.
