The country’s top baseball league is on pace to surpass 1 million fans at the slowest rate in five years, data showed Monday.
The Korea Baseball Organization said its nine clubs are expected to exceed 1 million fans for this season on Tuesday, after playing 96 games. Eight of the nine teams will begin their three-game midweek series on Tuesday.
Through Sunday’s games, teams have attracted a combined 955,617 fans in 92 games, for an average of 10,387 fans per contest. The KBO hasn’t been this slow to 1 million fans since 2008, when teams needed 106 games to hit the milestone. (Yonhap News)
