Han Sung Motor CEO gives lecture on successful design

Ulf Ausprung, chief executive of Han Sung Motor, the largest dealer of Mercedes-Benz cars here, gave a special lecture on successful design at Hongik University on Wednesday.

It was the second time for the German CEO, who has passion for both cars and design, to meet the students of the prestigious art school in Seoul.

During the lecture, entitled “Keys to successful design,” he stressed the relevance of design across industries and its increasing importance in modern society.

According to Ausprung, there is a growing number of Korean designers making their names on the global stage.

He also offered tips on the qualifications required by multinational companies and how graduates should be prepared to seek career opportunities overseas.

“During the last couple of years of living in Korea, I have felt that there is a strong desire of aesthetic beauty among the Korean people and there is much artistic talent in this country,” Ausprung said.

“I am very happy to be able to help these young students expand their capacity further, and hope that more Korean automobile designers play an active part on the international stage.”

Initiated by the CEO, Han Sung Motor has also carried out an art-based social responsibility program called the Dream Gream (Picture) Project, which supports cultural activities for young students on a regular basis.
