Korean, Indonesian education ministries sign tech MOU

The Indonesian education ministry and its South Korean counterpart agreed to cooperate in the establishment of a technologically advanced classroom, said the education ministry here on Thursday.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesia’s Ministry of National Education to run a classroom that utilizes information and communications technology at a teacher training institute in Indonesia.

The ministry here concluded agreements with countries looking to develop their education IT, and Columbia was the first to sign an MOU in July.

According to Indonesia’s education minister Syawl Gultom, this will be the base that helps to provide students with quality education as teachers develop their knowledge of information and communication technology and improve their teaching methods.

The education ministry here has signed MOUs with 16 countries from Asia, South America and Africa since 2006 regarding e-learning.
