More than 300 Citigroup Korea, Inc. employees have signed up for the company’s new volunteer group here.
The new Citigroup Korea Volunteer Community Service was formed from an existing volunteer club being run by a group of philanthropic employees. The initiative has been formalized in a bid to engage more people at a company-wide level in Korea.
Ha Yung-Ku, CEO of Citigroup Korea, Inc. congratulated the 311 volunteers who have already signed up to the group, which has expanded to take in all Citigroup Korea subsidiaries.
“I am confident that our employees ― from Citibank Korea, to Citigroup Capital Korea, Citi Financial Sales Korea, Citi Credit Service and Citigroup Global Markets Securities Korea ― will work hard as one to make our community a better place,” said Ha at a recent launch ceremony at Citibank’s headquarters in Seoul.
“I am very proud of the Volunteer Community Service as it is initiated and led by employees, bottom up rather than top down,” added Kim Sung-Su, the chair of the new volunteer group, and head of Citibank Sales 5 Div.
