HTC on Thursday unveiled its EVO 4G smartphone and Flyer 4G tablet, the first fourth-generation smart devices to hit the nation.

Both the phone and the tablet will be capable of transmitting data at up to three times as fast as current smartphones, HTC said.

“HTC’s 4G devices will be able to offer the kind of speed that Korean customers want, and at affordable prices,” said Pyo Hyun-myung, president of KT.

The EVO 4G phone features a 4.3-inch display and runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It has a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and has one 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front.

The Flyer 4G is HTC’s first tablet PC and was launched globally in February. It has a 10-inch display, weighs 416 grams and has two cameras.

One unique feature is the scribe technology, which allows users to make memos on the tablet screen with a digital pen and share them instantly online.

Both products keep users constantly connected as they are based on WCDMA, WiBro and WiFi networks ― the 3Ws.

WiBro 4G tethering is possible from both devices, which can each be hooked up to eight wireless networks.
