Porsche Asia Pacific sales hit new record

Sales of the luxury sports car brand Porsche rose to a new high in 2010, Porsche Asia Pacific announced Tuesday.

According to the company, Porsche sales in the region jumped 89 percent from the previous year to come in at 2,265 units.

In the Korean market, Porsche saw sales increase by 75.4 percent over the period to come in at 705 units.

Along with Korea, Taiwan and Singapore also contributed significantly to last year’s sales with 543 and 403 vehicles being sold in the markets, respectively.
The company attributed the rise to the popularity of the new Cayenne model range.

According to the company 732 units were delivered to customers in the region, up 46 percent from 2009. The company added that the Panamera also showed good performance with 690 cars delivered in 2010.
