Korean Air introduces premium in-flight services

By Cho Ji-hyun

Korean Air, the country’s largest air carrier, introduced a number of new services on Wednesday, including an upgraded menu on some routes and a new cosmetic skin care set, in a bid to enhance its in-flight services.

At a press event in Incheon, the company said it will upgrade the in-flight menu for economy seat passengers beginning in June, serving a healthier meal option -- salmon salad with noodles -- for those flying to the Americas and Europe.

It will also hand out a new cosmetics kit, which features DAVI’s skin care products, from May on some routes, including Los Angeles, New York and Paris.

The products are made of natural ingredients such as grape seed and fermented grape extracts.

The kit, which comes in four varieties, commonly includes face cream, hand and body lotions, eye gel and lip balm for first class passengers. For business class travelers, it includes face cream, eye gel, lip balm, a dental set and comb, according to its officials.

It will expand the service to its routes to the Americas in July and its flights to Oceania in September.

“We expect that Korean Air and DAVI will achieve joint growth through this opportunity and that this service will play a big role in the success of our airline as we plan to soon showcase the new A380,” said Heather Cho, senior vice president at Korean Air.
