ASEAN-Korea Centre has announced the winners of the “2010 ASEAN-Korea Children’s Drawing Contest” for the nation’s elementary school students.
Under the theme “My Friend ASEAN,” last month’s contest received over 160 entries that explored the diverse cultures of ASEAN member states and expressed the friendship shared between Southeast Asian countries and South Korea.
The winner of the contest was Lim Ji-young from Pyeongtaek Jisan Elementary School for the artwork titled “ASEAN Animals.”

“The contest was held to provide an opportunity for elementary school students to foster a sense of global citizenship and to experience cultural diversity within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations,” explained the center’s Secretary General Cho Young-jai
While the exhibition runs until Feb. 25, the artworks will also be exhibited online through the cyber gallery of ASEAN-Korea Centre.
