H.O.T’s Kangta to return with new album

Singer-songwriter Kangta is returning to the spotlight for the first time in nearly a decade.

Best known as part of first-generation K-pop boy band H.O.T, Kangta will unveil a new album next month, according to the artist’s management agency S.M. Entertainment on Thursday.

This is the singer’s first release since his fourth solo album “Eternity,” which was announced in 2008 before he embarked on his mandatory military service.

Over the years, Kangta has appeared on various television programs in Korea and China. He also produced Super Junior M member Zhou Mi’s solo album “Rewind” in 2014. Most recently, he served as a host for an MBC radio show in June.

The five-track album “Home” will be available on all major local music sites from Wednesday at midnight.

Meanwhile, Kangta is also gearing up for his upcoming solo concert series “Coming Home.” It will take place at the S.M. Theater in Coex Artium in Samseong-dong, Seoul, from Nov. 4-6, and at Sohyang Theatre ShinhanCard Hall in Haeundae, Busan, from Dec. 10-11. Tickets are available at ticket.yes24.com.
