Lee Seung-gi releases digital single in Army

Lee Seung-gi, an actor and K-pop singer currently serving his compulsory military service, released digital single “Meet Someone Like Me” at noon on Thursday.

The new single is the last song that Lee recorded before joining the Army, and was produced by Psy, Lee’s agency Hook Entertainment said Wednesday. Psy presented the song to Lee in appreciation for his surprise guest appearance at his solo concert in December, the agency added.

Lee and Psy have known each other for 12 years, since they first met for Lee’s debut title track, “Because You’re My Girl,” released in 2004.

Despite their demanding schedules, Lee and Psy worked on the latest song until the day before Lee enlisted in the Army, the agency said.

Sterling Sound, a mastering studio in New York known for its work with Beyonce and Adele, added the final touches to the song.

The music video, also released Thursday, describes Lee’s past activities and his preparations for the Army.

Meanwhile, “I Go to the Army,” released just before Lee began his conscription in the Army in a country that is still technically at war with its northern neighbor on Feb. 1, topped eight music charts upon its release on Jan. 22.
