Big Bang releases new ‘E’ EP

Big Bang revealed its much-awaited, brand new EP at midnight Wednesday. Titled “E,” the album is the fourth and last installment of the group’s “MADE” series and comprises two tracks -- “Zutter” and “Let‘s Not Fall in Love.”

The release came directly following an hour-long live broadcast on Naver’s V, a new app that allows Hallyu celebrities to stream live videos and chat with fans in real time. Also revealed during the broadcast were making-of reels for the new songs’ music videos, which feature G-Dragon and T.O.P posing in grungy back alleys and all five members -- further including Seungri, Daesung and Taeyang -- taking up boyfriend roles alongside models.

The two new songs are currently sweeping major local music charts Melon, Soribada, Olleh Music, Genie, Bugs Music and more.

The tracks also topped iTunes charts in 16 countries abroad including Cambodia, Chile, El Salvador, Finland, Hong Kong, Mexico and Singapore.
“Zutter,” a gritty hip-hop beat by the group’s rap unit GD & T.O.P, is full of the duo’s swaggering groove and witty lyrics. “Let’s Not Fall in Love” is a rhythmical pop-rock track that speaks of young love.

“G-Dragon really wrestled with the lyrics of ‘Zutter,’” Taeyang explained during the V app broadcast.

“I used to be able to write (songs) comfortably,” said G-Dragon. “Now, I’m much more self-conscious.”

While the group has focused mainly on overseas tours recently, Big Bang will be “very active in the domestic K-pop scene” with its new releases, said Seungri.
