Charity night of art and music

An artists’ collective has formed to launch a new poverty-fighting initiative with a multi-media show in Seoul.

The Korea Against Poverty group launched by Stefan Lotz and Colin Owen Griffin is to bring together visual artists, musicians, writers and performers to put their talents to charitable use.

The first benefit show will be Oct. 15 at Platoon Kunsthalle in Apgujeong to raise funds to help the fight against poverty here and in Africa,

Korean and expat bands including Hit the Nine, On Sparrow Hill, Magna Fall, and Blue Biscuit Blues Band will perform as artists create art live on stage.

A rooftop stage will also be open if the weather permits, with acoustic performance from bands such as Nonolina, Dirty 30’s, Ben Akers, Josh Shell.

Tickets cost 15,000 won with artworks also on sale at the venue to help raise funds for Good Neighbors Korea and not-for-profit organizations working in Africa.

“Drawing cross-culturally from the foreign and Korean communities here in Seoul, KAP symbolizes the dawn of a new era of cooperation and integration in Korea,” said Lotz.
