Korea, Japan, China sign MOU on drone cooperation

[THE INVESTOR] Industrial organizations of South Korea, Japan and China on June 19 agreed to join hands to nurture the nascent drone industry together.

The Korea Industrial Technology Association said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with its Chinese and Japanese counterparts on the sidelines of the Shenzhen International UAV (unnamed aerial vehicle) Expo.

The three associations agreed to hold a global conference and develop technological standards. The first global conference is scheduled to be held in Korea in September.

The Korea Drone Industry Promotion Association was launched in September last year. The first chairman is Lee Hyo-koo, vice chairman of LIG Nex 1, a leading defense firm.
