Internationally renowned electronic music acts Knife Party and Krewella will be making their way to Seoul to perform at this year’s edition of the electronic dance music festival Global Gathering Korea, organizers said Tuesday.
Global Gathering Korea 2014 will take place on Oct. 4 at Olympic Stadium at Jamsil Sports Complex, unlike previous editions, which were held at Caribbean Bay waterpark in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. More information about the artist lineup will be announced in the coming months.
Knife Party is a popular Australian EDM project group consisting of Rob Swire, the lead vocalist of electronic rock band Pendulum, and his bandmate, bassist Gareth McGrillen. The duo has gained kudos for its distinctive musical style characterized by a sharp dubstep sound featuring intense bass lines and explosive drum beats.

Having produced major hits such as “Internet Friends,” “Bonfire,” “LRAD” and more, Knife Party has headlined major electronic music festivals around the world including Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival and Global Gathering. The duo has also collaborated with high-profile EDM acts including Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex.
Krewella is an American EDM trio consisting of Yasmine Yousaf, Jahan Yousaf and Kris Trindl. It is known for blending self-produced house and dubstep sounds with other electronic music styles. The group shot to stardom through several chart-topping singles including “Alive,” “Live for the Night,” “Human,” “Enjoy the Ride” and “Party Monster.”
The trio has headlined many international EDM festivals including Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Stereosonic, Spring Awakening and Paradiso Festival. Krewella earned the International Dance Music Award for “Best Breakthrough Artist” in 2012.
Global Gathering is an international music festival organized annually by the U.K.-based management company Angel Music. Every year, the festival brings acclaimed EDM artists from diverse sub-genres such as house, trance and dubstep to various corners of the world including Ukraine, Poland, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Australia and South Korea.
Global Gathering Korea first began in 2009, and has established itself as one of several signature EDM music festivals in the nation, including Ultra Korea and the World DJ Festival. Past editions of GGK have brought world-famous acts including The Prodigy, Underworld, David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, Justice and Fatboy Slim to South Korea.
