Over 3,600 Jeep vehicles sold here are being recalled for defective parts that could cause fires or failures in the air-bag system, the transportation ministry said Monday.
The ministry said the heated power side mirrors of the Jeep Wrangler may short and cause a fire.
The recall affects 3,025 units of the Jeep Wrangler off-road SUVs produced between Oct. 26, 2010, and July 10, 2013, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The recall also affects 611 units of the Jeep Cherokee SUVs produced between April 16 and Nov. 15 of 2014, whose air-bag systems may fail due to a system error.
Free repair services for the subject vehicles will be available starting Tuesday at any service center of FCA Korea, the local importer and distributor of Jeep vehicles, the ministry said. (Yonhap)
