Ford Sales and Service Korea said over the weekend that it has provided major league player Choo Shin-soo with a Lincoln MKX for his two-week visit to Seoul.
The outfielder arrived in late December in order to attend various functions such as a press conference, a publicity ambassador appointment ceremony for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games and a charity event for the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation.
He will arrive at all these events, among other occasions, in the Lincoln MKX, a luxury sport utility vehicle from Ford Motor.
The MKX boasts an elaborate design, including Lincoln’s signature split-wing grill, and carries all the basic smart technologies like an adaptable cruise control, an intelligent four-wheel-drive system and a THX II certified sound system.
The vehicle has also won the 2012 Top Safety Pick Award from the U.S.-based Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, according to the company.
“We offered the Lincoln MKX to Choo Shin-soo because we felt the value of our luxury SUV was well-oriented toward Choo’s passion for seeking and approaching new challenges,” said Ford Korea spokesperson Noh Sun-hee. “We wish him another outstanding season in 2014.”
Choo, who was one of the best leadoff hitters for the Cincinnati Reds last season, recently signed a 7-year contract worth $130 million with the Texas Rangers.
He is scheduled to return to the United States on Jan. 12.
