Yumi releases first single in two years

Singer Yumi released “Teary Story” Tuesday as part of the original soundtrack for TvN drama “Nine.” It is her first song in two years.

“This was a very hard earned chance to break away from being an unknown singer. I did not want to miss this opportunity. I put all my heart into this song,” she told local media.

Yumi debuted in 2002 and although two of her songs, “Love is Always Thirsty” and “Star,” were huge hits through a popular TV commercial and a movie, much of the public was unaware of the artist herself. She finally broke into the limelight this year through KBS’ “Saturday Freedom,” a singing competition show.
