BEIJING (Yonhap News) ― The Chinese affiliate of Samsung Group, South Korea’s largest conglomerate, said Thursday it has been selected as one of China’s most admired companies, citing an annual survey of a Chinese economic daily.
China Samsung was included on a list of the six most-admired foreign companies in the survey of Chinese academics and journalists, conducted by the Beijing-based Economic Observer daily, China Samsung said in a statement.
Other foreign companies included International Business Machines Corp., Honda Motor Co. and German engineering group Siemens, according to the statement.
In the statement, Jang Won-ki, the chief executive of China Samsung, said, “(Our company) will continue to make efforts to create jobs and roll out products tailored for Chinese consumers.”
Samsung Electronics Co., the group’s technology flagship, is building a $7 billion chip plant in Xi’an, an industrial city in northwestern China.
