CJ Cheiljedang, a leading food business and bio company in Korea, has stepped up globalization of its global food and restaurant brand Bibigo.
According to the company, Bibigo has penetrated into 1,000 retail stores in nine countries for the past year since its establishment in 2011. The nine countries are the U.S., Japan, China, U.K., Taiwan, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Russia.
Under the Bibigo brand, CJ has introduced six processed foods to the global food market, ranging from Korean sauces to kimchi and frozen dumplings.
The company said it would proactively join an array of cultural events throughout the world to promote its Bibigo brand. For instance, it made a booth to promote Korean foods made by Bibigo brand products during the Thames Festival in the U.K. last September.
CJ Foodville, the restaurant chain developer and operator of CJ Cheiljedang, will also step up global expansion of Bibigo, a restaurant chain serving bibimbap, in an effort to promote the Korean food in the world, company officials said.
