Porsche is likely to maintain a low profile at this year’s Seoul Motor Show, but the Korean debut of the new Cayman and Cayman S seem enough to captivate sports car fans here.
The Porsche Cayman is a mid-engine layout rear-wheel-drive coupe derived from Porsche’s second- and third-generation Boxster roadster.
The new, third-generation two-seat sports car has again undergone a complete redevelopment. It is lower and longer, lighter and faster, and more efficient and powerful then ever, the carmaker says.

The new Cayman is up to 30 kilograms lighter due to the carmaker’s lightweight body design and has a fuel efficiency of 10.7 kilometers per liter, a 15 percent improvement from the previous model.
The new Cayman is equipped with a 2.7-liter flat V6 engine producing 275 horsepower and a 0-to-100 kilometer per hour acceleration time of 5.7 seconds.
The Cayman S comes with a 3.4-liter flat V6 engine generating 325 horsepower. It hustles to 100 kilometers per hour within just five seconds.
Optional features include Adaptive Cruise Control that controls the distance from the car ahead and vehicle speed in traffic and a specially developed Burmester sound system.
